Salesforce, SugarCRM and SalesLogix — Data Storage Costs Compared
Data storage costs are one of the biggest concerns CRM users have. Salesforce, SugarCRM and Infor CRM are three of the most popular CRM systems in the country. All three have additional costs for data storage. For a specific comparison of Sugar vs. Salesforce, check out this article titled “The Facts”. You can see the full data storage cost comparison below.
1. Salesforce — Salesforce CRM gives you 1 gigabyte of “data” storage and 11 gigabytes of “document” storage across all levels and versions. Quoted are the two separate fees, “data” and “document”. Once you breech the initial storage levels, it will cost you $250 per gigabyte per month for data storage (notes and contact info) and $300 per month per 50 MB per month for document storage (documents, images, etc.). This is an extremely expensive threshold to maintain, especially for smaller businesses.
2. SugarCRM — Sugar Pro comes out-of-the-box with 15 gigs of storage space that can be used for regular “data” or “documents”. Sugar Corporate comes out-of-the-box with 30 gigs, and to follow suit, Enterprise comes with 60 gigs. Across the board, data storage is $200 extra per 1GB per year, no matter what kind of data. Because of that, it become a bit more cost effective to scale the actual version of Sugar itself than pay for storage costs. Still, SugarCRM has one of the lowest data storage costs around.
3. Infor Cloud — Infor provides a very simple data storage formula. They charge $2.50 cents per every gigabyte of storage data. If you had 20 gigabytes worth of data, it would run you $50 per month. Infor CRM is highly cost effective even for small businesses.
Of course with Sugar and SalesLogix you always have the option to host it yourself, in which case, you set your own storage limits. Salesforce has no option to host the application yourself.
