Salesforce Reporting Tool Limitations
By Sonja Fridell
Every year, Saleforce releases a document of reporting limitations associated with the product for the previous calendar year. Instead of looking through the document (2012’s tool limitation document was over 40 pages long), we’ve consolidated all of Salesforce’s reporting limitations into one, easy-to-read document.
To be clear, Salesforce is a highly dependable and flexible CRM system. These reporting limitations can make or break whether or not you want to use (or continue to use) the product. Make sure you review the this is a critical document before you commit to Salesforce or if you have questions about how you can improve your own reporting experience.
Some of the existing reporting limitations explained in the guide:
- Visual reporting – How does Salesforce translate your data into easy-to-read visualizations?
- Customization – To what extent can you customize your objects/modules? What are the limitations behind these?
- Sharing Reports – Can you share an object or report?
- Cross-object reporting – This is one of the most important limiations discussed. The ability to report on two or more separate objects (modules) at once.
